Training in conflict management

This group measure focuses on young people aged between 14 and 17 years who are willing to resort to violence. Boys can participate as well as girls.

The young people are not only assigned by a judge but also by educational experts (teachers, educators and so on) or can propose an assignment themselves. The youth welfare office in charge verifies if help is necessary and, if this is the case, bears all the costs.

The training comprises ten group sessions in total (each taking two hours). Furthermore there are three individual interlocutions (preliminary, in-between, concluding) for developing, checking and reflecting the targets of the training.

Additionally there’s half a day of outdoor pursuits.

Main concerns

  • practicing non violent forms of conflict resolution
  • confronting the own present behaviour
  • developing empathy and impulse control
  • strengthening the willingness to cooperate
